Assembly
Assembly line is the different part of machines that are provided with the machine. These parts are interchangeable and thus make the machine more flexible. These assembly lines are not only used by few organizations but all the manufacturing companies are trying to produce assembly line in order to make the machine more flexible. Ford Company was the first company who introduced the assembly lines in late 19th century. These assembly lines introduced all the parts of the car, which are interchangeable parts.
History Of Assembly Lines
Well! No specific person name and date is mentioned in the books of history as who first invented this strategy. This strategy was launched in late 19th century and in the beginning of 20th century. Different machine tools and fixtures were introduced in the assembly lines.
Venetian Arsenal (1500s)
Venetian was the man who employed 16000 people in his company in the beginning of 16th century. Theses employees can produce a big ship in a day with all standardized part with the help of assembly line and thus an industrial revolution took place.
Firearms, Clocks Et Al (1860s-1890s)
In 19th century industrial revolution took place in all the western countries. The major industries affected by this were textile industries, firearms, railroad cars, buttons, sewing machines, locomotives and many other industries who manufactured electronic devices.
Marc Isambard Brunel (1800-1820s)
Marc Isambard burner established the very first assembly lines with all continuous working. Henry Maud slay helped him in his working. They worked for the production of Royal navy. Their working made their company in work since 1960s. This assembly line enhancement remained high in use until late 1960.
Eli Whitney (1780s-1820s)
Eli Whitney developed armory system of manufacturing in 1801. Eli used the techniques of division of labor and assembly lines with interchangeable parts. The interchangeable parts of machine and other products started their history from Eli’s work.
Ransom E. Olds (1890s-1900s)
Olds Motor Vehicle Company was founded in 1901. The company’s president Ransom Olds provide different concepts of assembly line. This company was the first American company who develop mass produce automobiles. Son the Ford Company took step in the assembly line and it was thought that Ford took the concept of assembly line from Ransom E. Olds.
Assembly lines concept is used in most of the electronic companies where different machines are upgraded by the use of soft-wares. This software enhances the version of the machines. These soft-wares are developed by the computer company who produces different machines. Usually changing machines incur a cost on the company and therefore is an expensive method. Therefore, companies started using computer-based machines that just need software upgrading to enhance the machine version. Mechanically interchanging the machines part is not even expensive but is a time consuming work. On the other hand, different electronic companies are now introducing chips with their product. These chips are installed and the machines will work in different manner. This usually happens in the sewing machine where different chips are used in order to perform different functions. These chips are easy to handle and are portable. Different batteries are given with the product in order to make the product in lifetime working condition. Usually assembly lines concept is used in cable producing combines where fabric cables are produce. Different cables are interchangeable and thus make the work easier. Army and military department usually use assembly lines in their manufacturing department where different riffles parts are interchangeable. Slip ring assembly lines are used in the mechanical department where different rings of machines are interchangeable when the older rings are producing noise and are out of work. Domestic product now hold different assembly lines improvement in order to ease the people.
